Awkwafina Reaches New Heights in Sam Edelman Kori Platform Sandals for ‘Jackpot’ Premiere

Awkwafina attended the Los Angeles premiere of Amazon MGM Studios “Jackpot” held yesterday.

The actress towered in a pair of Sam Edelman Kori platform sandals in the color “Beechwood.” The sky-high sandal silhouette featured cloth uppers in a tan plaid style that transitioned into 2-inch platform soles, peep-toes and lofty 4.3-inch block heels.

Thin but sturdy ankle straps wrapped around Awkwafina’s ankles threaded securely through adjustable buckle closures. Currently retailing for $80, the sandal also comes in neutrals like “Black” and “Cuoio,” along with more striking styles like “Soft Silver” and “Sunrise Blush Patent.” The “Kung Fu Panda 4” star often gravitates toward platform styles that work to elongate her silhouette, offering the extra height she doesn’t really possess.

Shining bright, the thespian sported a gold sequin mini dress from Nadine Merabi. Retailing for $150, the Josie style featured an asymmetrical hem, midi-length sleeves, a mock neckline and gold sequin detailing that imparted a dazzling touch. Additionally, the comedian sported coordinating gold hoops and a matching bangle fixed with high-shine gemstones.

Awkwafina wears a variety of styles ranging from sharp pumps to sporty sneakers. The “Crazy Rich Asians” actress has been seen on the red carpet in a variety of colorful and neutral pointed-toe pumps and platform sandals, which she also re-wears, from luxury brands like Malone Souliers, Versace and Larroudé. She’s also been spotted in affordable styles by Aldo. Off-duty, her footwear is decidedly more casual, including Stella McCartney platform brogues, Reebok and Converse sneakers. 

“Jackpot” is a 2024 comedy-action movie starring the likes of Awkwafina, John Cena and Sam Asghari, among others. Releasing Aug. 15, the film is set in the near future where a “Grand Lottery” has been newly established in California. The catch? Kill the winner before sundown to legally claim their multi-billion dollar jackpot.
