After hosting the season finale of “Saturday Night Live” in 2021, Anya Taylor-Joy was back with the crew this weekend. On Friday, the actor joined the cast at the “SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert.” For that event, she wore a white fur coat with a white halter-style silk and lace dress. She paired it with her favorite Jimmy Choo Minny heels featuring a white satin upper. She continued the weekend on Sunday, attending “SNL 50: The Anniversary Special.”
For both events she was styled by Ryan Hastings. For the latter, she wore a vintage Thierry Mugler piece from the designer’s fall 1995 collection. The piece features a raised collar, nipped waist and peplum like detail. She paired it with a maxi skirt. While she appeared to wear a black pointed-toe pump on the red carpet for the event, at the after party she swapped it out for flats.
The shoes were the Mansur Gavriel Glove ballet flats. The style is shockingly minimal, as is standard for Mansur Gavriel. It is a slip-on with a leather upper. Made in Portugal, the shoe features an asymmetrical, almost almond toe. There is a seam that goes up from the toe of the shoe to the pointed vamp. At the top of that seem is one perpendicular stitch. The sole includes a heel of less than an inch.
In addition, the shoe is lined in red fabric.
Though Mansur Gavriel initially attracted a lot of attention for its minimal bucket bags, over time the label has expanded. The company’s Dream Ballerina ballet flat developed a cult celebrity following that included Gigi Hadid, Katie Holmes and Kaia Gerber. That style differs in that it contains a grosgrain trim as well as a knotted bow on the vamp.
Other standout shoes at the party included Lady Gaga’s platform boots. Those six-inch styles were from Enfants Riches Deprimes.
This weekend has seen the celebration of 50 years of “Saturday Night Live.” On Friday, that included a concert event. Tonight is the anniversary special with the likes of Cher, Miley Cyrus, Pedro Pascal, Miles Teller and Leslie Jones as guests to participate.
