Anna Kendrick is in New York City promoting her directorial debut “Woman of the Hour.” The movie is based on the true story of a serial rapist and murderer. But, while in the city, between stops, Kendrick was seen wearing a simple mid-length blue dress, red tinted shades, and the perfect fall boot.
Kendrick’s footwear was a boot from Santoni. The style features a round toe and a heel of about 3.5 inches. It also includes a side zip that goes up half way for ease of use. The footwear includes a leather sole that is orange on the bottom. Like red is for Christian Louboutin, orange is the signature color of Santoni soles.
What made Kendrick’s style perfect for fall is that the upper is made of suede, or soft leather. The fabrication is often used in fall and winter months though it can be worn year-round. Kendrick chose to not only wear suede boots but also carry a suede shoulder bag. That it was a boot also reenforces the season: boots are often worn in fall and winter months as well.

While it’s officially autumn in New York, the warmer temperatures made the actress pair the boots with a sleeveless dress and she opted to go without a coat—providing a perfect example of an ideal “in-between seasons” ensemble.
Santoni’s suede half-zip boots in this knee high style is available for $1,700.
Expect to see quite a number of tall boots in the coming months. Earlier this month, Anne Hathaway had on a pair of thigh-high black boots from Versace that she wore to a screening of “The Apprentice.” Even Blake Lively wore a pair of forest green Christian Louboutin thigh-high boots to the New York Food and Wine Festival this week. Even Michelle Obama has gotten in on it: she wore a thigh-high black leather boot on October 3 to “The Wonder of Stevie” podcast event.
Taylor Swift kicked things off a little earlier than most in September. She wore a pair of red patent leather Giuseppe Zanotti thigh-high boots to a Kansas City Chiefs game before wearing another pair of over-the-knee boots (this time in black and from Stuart Weitzman) to the Video Music Awards.
