Angela Simmons isn’t ready to let go of white for the winter months. The entrepreneur posted photos to Instagram of her taken by Ryan Malcolm-Campbell in a mostly white look. Styled by Holly Larry, who supplied FN with the images, the look included a white knit cropped top featuring flared sleeves as well as a knit skirt of the same material from Akira. Simmons also carried a quite Jacquemus handbag.
For shoes, Simmons opted for Christian Louboutin. She chose the brand’s So Kate silhouette in a rare python leather. The shoe features a pointed toe. The So Kate is a slightly angular style with a high pitch to account for its single sole and more than four inch skinny stiletto.
The shoe is also cut to reveal much of the foot, cut low on the sides and on the vamp which can create a lengthening effect to the leg when combined with the pitch. Like all Christian Louboutin shoes, the style sports a red sole, which were inspired by red nail polish.
The So Kate has seen a lot of conversation this year. It was first introduced by Louboutin in 2012. It came one year after the introduction of the Kate style, named for supermodel Kate Moss. While both are fairly classic pump shoes, the So Kate was a more angular shoe with a pointier toe, and higher pitch. It is generally viewed as a sexier version.
This year, the So Kate began to kick up chatter on the feet of Zendaya. Though the actress has worn the Louboutin So Kate her entire career, social media began to take notice en masse during her “Challengers” press tour where she kept wearing the white version. While it had been a popular shoe before that — Tracee Ellis Ross, who calls the So Kate “a torture device, not a shoe,” has long been a fan — Google search results surged this year around Zendaya’s wear. Other celebrities like Cardi B and more have often been sporting them.
Following that, Louboutin premiered a new pump, the Miss Z, which is described as a sharper, more angular version of the So Kate designed to look higher than it is.
Simmons is a fan of an eye-catching shoe. For the premiere of her Grind Pretty cover she wore a pair of rhinestone covered strappy sandals from Steve Madden.
