After a memorable 19-year career, Andy Murray played his last tennis match on day four of the 2024 Wimbledon Tennis Championships on July 4, 2024 in London, England.
After a doubles match at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club alongside his brother Jamie, the annual match played a short montage of Murray’s career highlights including videos from his three Grand Slam victories. Along with friends and family, other tennis stars attended the ceremony including Tim Henman, Daniel Evans, Cameron Norrie. After the video, everyone gathered to give Murray a standing ovation.
Throughout his time on the court, Murray’s remarkable skills have allotted him equally impressive partnerships with top brands like Under Armour. In 2014, he signed a four-year deal with the American athleticwear company that was worth around $19.1 million, making it one of the biggest contracts in the tennis world at the time. A year into his partnership, Murray was spotted playing at the U.S. Open wearing a custom pair of sneakers from the brand. Under Armour created a variety of custom footwear for the tennis player, all including his initials embroidered onto the tongue.
