Amal Clooney brought a sleek twist to monochrome dressing while supporting husband George Clooney‘s latest film, “The Boys in the Boat.”
While in London on Sunday, Amal stepped out with George — who directed the sports drama, which will release in theaters on Dec. 25 — for the movie’s U.K. premiere in a pair of sharp black pumps. The humanitarian’s style featured smooth uppers with closed counters and sharply pointed toes, finished by thin stiletto heels.
Amal’s classic heels leaned into their roots as a wardrobe staple, favored for their formal silhouette and slick heel shape. Styles in dark colors are the most favored for their versatility, released in an array of silhouettes and styles throughout the years — as evidenced by new pairs from brands including Ferragamo, Kurt Geiger and Rebecca Minkoff.
The heels added a smooth finish to Amal’s attire for the occasion: a strapless black velvet crop top with a corseted base and large silk bow, paired with matching trousers. The attorney completed her streamlined ensemble with a textured black clutch and small gleaming gold post earrings, finishing the look with a chic shine.
Amal has grown into a fashion star to watch since she became linked with George Clooney in 2013. For her red carpet appearances, the lawyer and activist frequently wears pointed-toe pumps from brands like Gianvito Rossi, Givenchy and Jimmy Choo. Her off-duty wardrobe is equally streamlined and chic, including Halmanera sandals and Alberta Ferretti boots. In fact, Rossi’s PVC-paneled pumps have become one of Clooney’s go-to evening styles, which she owns in multiple colorways.
Sharpen your next outfit with classic black pumps.
