Amal Clooney is redefining power-dressing one designer look at a time. The human rights lawyer has been in New York for the United Nations General Assembly with husband George Clooney. She’s met with President Barack Obama and stood with her client Nadia Murad, an Iraqi refugee who was named a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador on Sept. 16.
For these momentous occasions, Clooney has looked to designers such as Gucci and Alexander McQueen and has paired her bold-yet-appropriate dresses with shoes by Giambattista Valli and Paul Andrew.
Clooney twice wore Valli’s black pumps, which at first glance look to be simple but actually have a flash of silver plating on the heel.
She topped off an Alexander McQueen printed dress with red suede pumps.

For a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, she kept it simple in a gray fitted dress and black pumps. Clooney was also spotted walking on New York’s Upper East Side in a pink printed coat, checked pants and black patent leather pumps.

Clooney seems to be a fan of designer Paul Andrew’s Zenadia pump, worn with a red wrap dress.
At a scholarship event, she opted for simple white patent leather slingbacks.
