Italian sneaker brand Superga and Miami-based luxury shoe brand Del Toro have teamed up to launch their first collaboration. Del Toro designer Matthew Chevallard presented the summer ’16 collection to a packed room at his New York City boutique on Wednesday night.
He told Footwear News, “Superga is in Torino, Italy, and that’s my hometown, so it’s an homage to that. I’ve had a close family relationship with the company — it’s a full-circle moment.”
Styles include the Superga 2750 low-rise, available for $145 in light blue suede and navy camo suede. Also included in the collection is the 2754 mid model, available in white and navy ostrich leather, retailing for $540.
All four styles are made in Italy and feature round laces, gilded eyelets, leather lining, inner soles and vulcanized natural rubber soles. They also include Del Toro’s signature red tab on the back of the shoe and a customized Del Toro x Superga logo on each sole heel.
The sneakers are available online and at Del Toro’s Miami and New York store, Superga stores in New York’s Soho neighborhood and San Francisco, as well as Saks Fifth Avenue.
