Sarah Jessica Parker Celebrates SJP Collection’s First Anniversary

Sarah Jessica Parker is celebrating her first anniversary as a shoe designer as any true shoe lover would — by turning to fashion-favorite Instagram.

After playing shoe fiend Carrie Bradshaw on “Sex and the City,” Parker fulfilled many women’s hopes on Feb. 28, 2014, when she debuted the SJP Collection, and it’s been a match made in shoe heaven ever since.

The designer shared her big moments throughout the year, featuring classic and colorful styles in an Instagram list.

The top 10 prove just how far the line has come in a year: from landing the Footwear News Achievement Award for Launch of the Year to her first collaboration with Tome, a cross-country tour, visits to Dubai and the White House, and unveiling her first pop-up shop. And her brand has expanded into Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Harvey Nichols in Dubai.

Online at Neiman Marcus, Parker also bowed her first fall collection.

At the December Footwear News Achievement Awards, Parker thanked her business partner, George Malkemus, as well as Nordstrom for giving her line its first home.

“The gift [of this event] is remembering and recalling such extraordinary lives and careers,” said Sarah Jessica Parker, who wore nude Carrie heels from her eponymous label to accept her award. “[This award] is a great encouragement to [our team].”
