Could Nike Be Releasing The Air Mags For ‘Back To The Future II’ Day?

It looks like Nike might be keeping good on its promise to create the Nike Air Mag from “Back to the Future II.”

Late yesterday the company made a rare move on its Twitter and tweeted at Michael J Fox, the star of the film who played Marty McFly. The reason the news is so big? Oct. 21, 2015 is the day Marty McFly and Doc. Brown travel to the future in the second film in the “Back to the Future” trilogy.

We still haven’t heard details about a release, but could this means we’re actually getting the self-lacing sneaker of the future from the 1989 film? Back in January the company said it was working on creating the Air Mag, but have remained tight lipped about it otherwise.

In the meantime, we’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed for a release.

And just in case you missed this too, Doc. Brown–played by Christopher Lloyd–released a very special note today on You Tube about Back to the Future Day.

UPDATE: The Air Mags are in New York City, as confirmed by Nike. Get the scoop here.
