Melissa shoes is feeling the love with a new collaboration that lands just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The Brazilian shoe brand, known for its inventive plastic styles and collaborations with everyone from Karl Lagerfeld to the Campana Brothers, has now teamed up with contemporary artist Sebastian Errazuriz.
The new collaboration reimagines the Ultragirl style for Melissa, in cherry red and featuring a heart “liquifying” on the toe. They’ll retail in Melissa stores for $100.
You might recognize some of the elements from Errazuriz’s “Twelve Shoes for Twelve Lovers” project, which was first exhibited at the Miami Art Basel in 2013. The project included a dozen 3D-printed shoes, all inspired by 12 of the artist’s past relationships. The exhibition was a hit and a bit of a viral sensation at the annual art show.
It’s definitely a sophisticated way to celebrate art and Valentine’s Day this season.
