There was little chance Marc Jacobs‘ New York Fashion Week party was going to disappoint. And we’re here to report that it did not.
There were wild costumes, a whole lot of skin and plenty of standout heels, along with a slew of big names taking part in the frivolity.
Jacobs hosted the event at Tunnel in New York to celebrate the release of “Gloss,” a book about 1970s photographer Chris Von Wangenheim. If you’ll remember, the invitation caused quite a buzz on social media due to Jacobs’ insistence that attendees wear: “Fur coats over lingerie,” “Rollerina Chica,” and “Sky High Stilettos, with flat shoes being strictly banned.
The guests certainly took the instructions and ran with them. Stylist June Ambrose and fashion personality Jay Manuel went for a Barbarella-disco theme with sequins, fur and metallic leather, along with intensely 1970s platform shoes.
While not every guest was in-theme (we’re assuming they also made a trip over to Rihanna’s shindig), there were still some standout shoes. Solange Knowles wore head-to-toe white, including a pair of pointy-toe mules. Gabrielle Union stepped out in platform heels by Bionda Castana, and Ciara grabbed our attention in some seriously strappy red pumps.
