As the last models take their final turns on London Fashion Week runways today, FN takes a look at the top footwear and fashion collaborations.
London, like New York before it, has had its fair share of partnerships. Take a look at some of the new match-ups, familiar favorites and unexpected twists at this season’s shows:
1. Emilio de la Morena x Bionda Castana
The Spanish designer, who worked under Jonathan Saunders, employed Bionda Castana’s Nicole pump to suit his line of metallics, jacquards and velvet flourishes.
2. Erdem x Nicholas Kirkwood
Everything about this show was intriguing. From the theatrical Hitchcock vibe and setting to Kirkwood’s tall polo-style boots, the union was an unexpected sartorial match-up.
3. Antonio Berardi x Rupert Sanderson
Bootie lovers, rejoice! Sanderson spiced things up south of the ankles. Done in rich navy, metallic gold or splattered with neon pink, his footwear elevated Berardi’s architectural designs.
4. David Koma x Malone Souliers
Koma and Mary Alice Malone, the designer of Malone Souliers, are both building up loyal followings of fashion-loving celebs. Koma, who is already a favorite in London and is making a splash on our side of the pond, tapped the luxury shoe label, which launched stateside in August 2014, to craft supremely chic T-bar shoes for this season’s collection. Mission accomplished.
