Kyrie Irving’s Sold-Out Anta Kai 2 Will Return Soon With Its Second Colorway
After making its debut and selling out last month in a purple colorway with immensely fuzzy laces, Kyrie Irving’s second signature sneaker is getting a more conventional look for its second release.
The Anta Kai 2 “Muse” has dropped overseas and is likely to follow suit in the U.S. Black dresses the bulk of its upper, and embroidered patterns on the tongue, midfoot and heel combine red, sky blue and white. Dark burgundy trim lines the eyestays, while a dash of purple is added to the heel. A white midsole then sees the icy blue translucent zig zag up it from the toe to midfoot. Tinged with more pronounced shades of purple and blue where it meets the upper and midsole, the rubber outsole also contains paneling at the toe and forefoot with gem-like luster.
Released shortly before Irving was forced out for the season with an ACL injury, the Anta Kai 2 is the fifth model overall to release under his Anta line. His first signature shoe, the Anta Kai 1, got a strapless spinoff in the Anta Kai 1 Speed. There’s also a more affordable Anta Kai 1 Team model for basketball, while the Anta Hélà is a lifestyle model inspired by skate shoes from the 2000s.

Like the Kai 1 Speed, the Kai 2 foregoes the strap the strap of its predecessor. Its sole unit makes use of a NitrogenEdge insole for responsiveness, and the sawtooth TPU enables flexibility.
The Anta Kai 2 “Muse” released Saturday in Singapore but no confirmation of wider availability has come yet. Expect the sneaker to release soon for a retail price of around $140.
