On the heels of Balmain’s fall ’16 campaign, Kanye West partnered with the brand to drop the official music video for “Wolves” on Friday.
Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing once again tapped into the Kardashian-West family craze for Balmain’s upcoming season, teasing images from the campaign featuring West alongside Joan Smalls, a dedicated member of Rousteing’s famous Balmain army. The brand also began showing the music video through its Instagram account on Monday, with ominous black-and-white outdoor scenes leading up to the track itself.
Shot by Steven Klein, the “Wolves” video includes campaign faces Smalls, Alessandra Ambrosio, Jordan Barrett, Ysaunny Brito and Jourdan Dunn. Vic Mensa and Sia, the other artists featured on West’s song, also appear in the video, as do Kylie Jenner and Cindy Crawford, among others.
The video features apparel and footwear from the brand’s fall 2016 collection. West is seen in the same Balmain embellished jacket he wore for the Met Gala in New York in June. Kardashian West is also wearing the same Balmain ensemble from the occasion.

It does not become apparent until the end of the music video that some footage may be from celebrations surrounding this year’s Met Gala, when West and his wife exited the locale and the paparazzi become audible.
West’s website still highlights his video for the controversial “Famous,” and the rapper has yet to tweet about the new video’s release as of mid-afternoon Friday. Wife Kim Kardashian West, however, has created some Twitter buzz for it:

West debuted “Wolves” during his Yeezy Season 1 in February 2015, during which he showcased his fall ’15 collection as a breakout designer. Days before the release of the collection in October, Footwear News announced West as its “Shoe of the Year” winner for his Adidas Yeezy Boost shoes.
The final version of the song was not available until the release of West’s “The Life of Pablo,” and the album version differs slightly from the audio accompanying the clip.
