Birkenstock USA has named industry veteran David Kahan as its new CEO.
The appointment is part of a company-wide restructuring that includes bringing the Birki’s, Tatami, Alpro, Footprints and Papillio brands under the Birkenstock umbrella.
Kahan has two decades of footwear experience and has held leadership positions at Nike, Reebok and Rockport. Most recently, he served as president of ENK Footwear Group.
“Birkenstock has tremendous brand recognition and a loyal consumer following,” said Kahan, who will be assuming his new role in June. “I am confident that with our dedicated team in the U.S. and our retail partners, we will help take the brand to greater heights in the years ahead.”
The CEO position at Birkenstock had been vacant for a few years.
