It was a very merry Beyday, indeed.
Beyoncé’s “Renaissance World Tour” brought celeb-packed audiences the entire weekend of her three-night run in Los Angeles, while also turning Tinsel Town to a sea of silver, with her Virgo season request for a metallics-sporting audience.
But it was the music artist’s birthday show on Monday night that brought the real star power, when Diana Ross appeared onstage to sing “Happy Birthday.”
In the middle of a three-hour-plus performance at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., Beyoncé was met onstage by the Motown legend, who walked out solo across the winding catwalk stage in a black gown decked out in feathers and sequins.
Despite some sound issues, Ross was able to sing “Happy Birthday” to the “Renaissance” star, who joined her onstage for an embrace afterward, dressed in her custom Loewe trompe l’oeil sequin bodysuit and opera gloves — part of the performer’s extensive tour wardrobe.
Onstage, Beyoncé thanked Ross for acting as a trailblazer, pioneer and inspiration to her throughout her career. The singer famously portrayed a version of Ross in the 2006 film “Dreamgirls.”
Ross wasn’t the only star to join Beyoncé onstage for her 42nd birthday show. Later in the night, Kendrick Lamar made a cameo during the star’s performance of “America Has a Problem.” Both stars dressed in “Beyhive” friendly black-and-yellow ensembles, with Beyoncé in a wasp-waisted Queen Bee bodysuit that matched black-and-yellow looks from the dancers.
There were also plenty of celebs sprinkled in the audience, including Zendaya, Tom Holland, Adele, Katy Perry, Lizzo, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kate Hudson, Normani, Brandy, and Kim and Khloé Kardashian.
The “Renaissance World Tour” continues through Oct. 1, with the last show scheduled for Kansas City.
