The People’s Choice Awards 2016 is just one day away and before fans tune in to see which of their favorite celebs take home the night’s top prizes, FN takes a look back in time to see which stars ruled the red carpet in years past.
This year, Britney Spears, Christina Milian, Dakota Johnson, Gina Rodriguez, Kate Hudson, Lea Michele, Melissa Benoist, Natalie Dormer and Vanessa Hudgens are to set make an appearance and are sure to be red carpet hits.
Over the years, Michele — who famously played Rachel Berry on “Glee” — hit the People’s Choice Awards red carpet on multiple occasions. She took home three trophies including two wins for Favorite Comedic TV Actress in 2012 and 2013. Michele is known for her statement looks on the red carpet and 2013 was no different. The actress stunned in bright pink Elie Saab sandals.
Kaley Cuoco was another contender in the same category and has been dubbed the winner for the past two years. Cuoco is nominated once again this year and faces serious competition in Anna Farris, Melissa McCarthy, Sofia Vergara and Zooey Deschanel.
In previous years, standout shoes that graced the People’s Choice Awards came from Sandra Bullock, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. In 2014, Bullock brought a pop of color in her yellow snakeskin Kurt Geiger pumps. That same year, the actress picked up the awards for Favorite Movie Actress, Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress and Favorite Comedic Movie Actress.
Cyrus also made a statement in snakeskin pumps. In 2012, the singer hit the carpet in metallic pink Jimmy Choo shoes with Liam Hemsworth by her side.
In 2011, Swift went with a simple and classic style for her red carpet look, sporting a pair of nude Prada sandals. At that time, there was no such thing as “Bad Blood” or squad goals. Swift was then leading the country music genre as she won Favorite Country Artist and lost to Katy Perry in the overall Favorite Female Artist category. Swift did, however, win the Favorite Female Artist award in 2015 and is nominated again in 2016.
Other top nominees for the show that honors the best of the best in music, movies and T.V. includes The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Channing Tatum. Be sure to tune in tonight at 9 p.m. on CBS.
