With more than 7 million followers on Instagram, it’s hard to imagine a time when Chiara Ferragni wasn’t a global fashion fixture. But when Ferragni first started her blog The Blonde Salad seven years ago, she was studying law at Milan’s Bocconi University.
“When I started my website, I could never have imagined 10 percent of the results I have gotten so far,” the Italy-born entrepreneur told Footwear News. “It’s nice that I created a new job that didn’t exist in the past.”
Since then, Ferragni has collaborated with brands and has launched Chiara Ferragni Collection, which is slated to bring in $11 million this year. Her immense success hasn’t gone unnoticed even outside the fashion bubble. The Blonde Salad was used as a case study at Harvard Business School in January 2015.

Despite having a closet full of the most enviable designer items, it takes Ferragni less than three minutes to get dressed in the morning, making her style all the more impressive. And on Tuesday, Footwear News will honor Ferragni with the Style Influencer of the Year award at the FN Achievement Awards in New York.
