Parisian Shoe Brand Both Opens First European Store in the Marais
Both, the Paris-based independent footwear brand, has opened its first European store.
Located at 6 rue de la Corderie in the Marais neighborhood of Paris, the shoe brand’s new store was codesigned with Parisian interior design house Atelier Craft.
Features of the new store include a window installation made of the brand’s Gao high boots caged in wire baskets dripping with liquid rubber in Both’s signature oxi green color. Each pair of boots are dipped with liquid rubber to a different level, from the sole up to the whole boot, showing the process of natural rubber dipping technique.
Dipped wire baskets in liquid rubber and hard metal serve as modular shoe display units inside the store. For furniture, Both chose Belgian brand Sixinch for custom-made seating benches and displaying plinths for the concept store. Recreated from folded industrial foam, the benches and plinths are made from a special bulletproof foam material, finished with a textured coating, to echo the rubber material used in the store as well as the shoes.
The new store now offers Both’s spring/summer 2024 men’s and women’s shoe collections. According to the brand, the entire collection “conjures images of blooming flowers, lush greenery and a sense of new beginnings.” New this season is Both’s first kitten heeled style made with an unconventional diagonal metal heel and a PVC upper in seasonal colors such as bright yellow and bubblegum pink. Plus, the brand’s signature Gao sole is added to a derby style that’s adorned with a bow this season.

Both launched in 2016 with the focus of championing innovative shoe design. Since then, Both has collaborated with brands like Dion Lee and Monse, and is available at retailers like SSENSE, Farfetch and its store in Tokyo, Japan. The shoe brand has also been seen on countless celebrities around the world including Blackpink, Bella Hadid, Irina Shayk, Rosalia have been spotted wearing Both footwear.
The brand’s new store opening comes at the same time as Paris Fashion Week Men’s. The week-long event kicks off on Tuesday with Pharrell Williams’ fall/winter 2024 Louis Vuitton men’s collection.
