Asics is having a moment in the critically-important outdoor specialty retail channel.
On Monday, consumer insights firm Circana announced the winners of its fourth annual Outdoor Sports Retail Performance Awards. Circana explained its awards acknowledge the fastest-growing brands in the U.S. outdoor and snow specialty retail channels based on in-store and e-commerce sales revenue according to its Retail Tracking Service data.
For the 12 months ending March 2024, Circana confirmed Asics was the fastest-growing footwear brand in the U.S. outdoor specialty market.
Footwear brands that have won the award in the past include Hey Dude, Hoka, On and Vans.
Other winners in 2024 include Arc’teryx (apparel), Stanley (equipment accessories) and Cotopaxi (accessories), among others.

“The outdoor industry is meeting its customers at the corner of all their lifestyle needs, from campgrounds and sports fields to backyards and travel adventures,” Circana sports equipment business vice president Michele Arnold said in a statement. “In recent years, the market has welcomed more and more casual consumers seeking new experiences for physical and mental health, as well as the convenience and versatility that many outdoor products deliver on. We are thrilled to recognize the successes of companies that are playing an important role in shaping the future of the outdoor industry.”
