Lizzo is being sued for the second time this year, following incidents with her wardrobe team on tour. Defendants named in the suit include Big GRRRL Big Touring Inc, Melissa Jefferson (Lizzo) and Amanda Nomura.

The case’s plaintiff, Asha Daniels, alleges that wardrobe supervisor Amanda Nomura rolled a clothing rack over her foot while the pair transported it during the singer’s Special Tour after last February, according to the lawsuit filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court. During the incident, Daniels’ claim states, she informed Nomura of her injury; Nomura responded by allegedly shoving Daniels into the rack and emphasizing that she must help move the clothing.

The report continues that following the incident, Daniels — who rolled her ankle after losing her balance — wore orthopedic shoes to reduce her foot pain. Nomura allegedly noticed the shoe choice, then demanded Daniels swap the comfort-focused shoes out for tennis shoes to aid with case transportation — which Daniels states she was forced to do. According to the report, the plaintiff “came to work in ‘croc’ shoes which minimized the pain. When Nomura noticed the plaintiff’s orthopedic shoes, she demanded Plaintiff to change into tennis shoes.” Continuing, “this made the demand to change shoes unreasonable and caused unnecessary, compounded injury to plaintiff,” the report cited.

All of the above incidents occurred prior to the tour. Ahead of its start, Daniels claims in the filing she was promised that “physically demanding duties” like moving racks and containers wouldn’t be part of her duty while working with Lizzo.

Elsewhere within the lawsuit, Daniels claimed she regularly re-injured her ankle due to her tour accommodations — including being forced to sleep on a top bunk bed with no ladder. The plaintiff also stated she wasn’t permitted medical treatment, despite her ankle injury and additional finger injuries from breaking nails while loading cases.

The above occurs following Lizzo’s first lawsuit in August. That incident found the Grammy Award-winning musician’s former tour dancers alleged the musician forced them to complete sexually explicit acts and ridiculed them on their weight, according to The Hollywood Reporter. On Aug. 3, Lizzo called the claims in the first lawsuit filing “false allegations” after she was accused of unprofessional workplace conditions on the same tour, writing on Instagram, “These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.”
