StockX Is Now Offering Three-Day Shipping on Pre-Verified Items — Including the Year’s Hottest Sneakers

StockX customers will now be able to receive pre-verified items — including the year’s hottest sneakers — within three business days.

Today, the marketplace revealed its newest feature, Xpress Ship. StockX explained that the Xpress Ship products will still go through its multistep verification process, which is executed by its team of authenticators. However, these specific Xpress Ship items, unlike other purchases on the platform, are verified in advance and are stored at a StockX facility.

By verifying these select items in advance, StockX said it can ship a product as soon as a customer purchases it. What’s more, StockX said Xpress Ship will help avoid delays caused by both sellers failing to ship an item to the marketplace or an item failing verification after it arrives at an authentication center.

Current inventory includes several of the best-selling sneakers on StockX of 2023, including the Nike Dunk Low “Panda,” the Supreme x Nike Air Force 1 Low “White,” the Adidas Yeezy Slide “Slate Gray” and more.

“We regularly survey our community to gather insights and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience, and fast shipping has always ranked among the most requested features,” StockX VP of customer experience and insights Jacob Fenton told FN. “And it’s understandable, as consumers we have extremely high expectations and we’re used to instant gratification.”

Customers can find Xpress Ship items by first looking on either the StockX app or website for products with a rocket icon. From there, customers can use search filters to sort by products that are eligible for Xpress Ship. Once an item has been found, customers can select the Xpress Ship shipping option during checkout. The shipping fee for Xpress Ship items is $24.95, which is $10 more than the standard StockX shipping rate in the United States.

“Based on the direct feedback we’ve received from tens of thousands of our community members, we know this is an important milestone. We’re going to be able to deliver more value to our customers, which in turn drives volume for the business,” Fenton said. “During the holiday season, delivery timelines are crucial and expectations are heightened, so it was essential to have Xpress Ship available to our customers ahead of Q4. This is especially important for shoppers who are new to StockX and might not understand that we verify every item before sending it on to a buyer.”

Although StockX has just launched Xpress Ship, the marketplace is already planning for the future. Looking ahead, StockX said it is focused on improving the pace of deliveries, broadening the selection of products available for Xpress Ship and expanding the program outside the United States starting in Q1 2024.

Beyond Xpress Ship, Fenton said StockX has other plans to further improve the customer experience. Its next effort is a new shoppable experience at its New York drop-off location, which will debut this week.

“We’ve remodeled the space to include a retail component, giving customers the opportunity to try on and purchase select sneakers in-store. At launch, we’ll have around 50 SKUs available with a variety of brands including Jordan, Nike, New Balance, Yeezy and Asics,” Fenton said. “We’re prioritizing top sellers and rare models, but the inventory will vary based on product availability. If we don’t have a customer’s preferred style or size in stock, our team can walk them through purchasing the item online or through the app.”

He continued, “We see opportunities to iterate on this concept. Down the road, we might do seasonal refreshes or curated themes, and we can evolve the offering based on customer demand and dedicated square footage on the retail floor.”
