NFL favorite J.J. Watt has his first commercial with new sponsor Reebok, and he’s sharing the limelight with another tough competitor: UFC champ Ronda Rousey.
The minute-long spot, titled “Deep Breath,” features the Houston Texans defensive end and the bantamweight title-holder in intense workouts in the gym and on the field. And we know these are intense workouts because there’s sweat flying everywhere, audio of heavy panting and closeup shots of their feet pounding against stairs, grass and punching bags.
And on those feet, of course, is Reebok’s new ZPump Fusion running sneakers, which launched in March and are sold exclusively at Finish Line stores and Reebok.com. In the video, Watt and Rousey are both seen wearing a new version of the shoe, the ZPump Fusion PU, that features an open mesh covering over the seamless upper. Like the rest of the ZPump line, it retails for $100.

Watt, who signed with Reebok in April, debuted the commercial earlier this week on his social media feed, introducing it with the message: “Ronda Rousey & I wear it. Any more questions? #TeamReebok”
The ad will begin airing nationally on major networks on Saturday, Aug. 1 (timed perfectly for Rousey’s much-anticipated title fight against Bethe Correia).
Watt and Rousey join a long list of sports icons who have touted Reebok’s Pump technology over the years. During the sneaker’s heyday in the late 1980s and early ’90s, Dominique Wilkins, Wayne Gretzky, Dennis Rodman and Greg Norman all appeared in ads for the sneaker.
