Could Snoop Dogg x Skechers pickleball shoes be coming soon?
At the FN Achievement Awards in New York on Wednesday, Skechers ambassadors and besties Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart presented Michael Greenberg, president and co-founder of Skechers USA Inc., with the Person of the Year — and they took the opportunity to throw out ideas for new products.
For Stewart, she pushed for glam metallic versions of her favorite Slip-ins styles and also suggested the brand make more basketball shoes. “I think Shaq is in the room tonight. We need to make some basketball shoes for him,” said Stewart.
But Snoop Dogg had other ideas: “I really want to make some pickleball shoes. I think that would be fun.”
The pair did both agree that they should reprise their Skechers Super Bowl commercial from earlier this year.

For his part, Greenberg made no promises that any of those projects would come to fruition, but of Stewart and Snoop Dogg, he did say, “I thought we were busy a year ago, but you guys are keeping us really busy.”
Greenberg’s award caps a banner year for Skechers. In the first three quarters of 2023, the Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based footwear giant generated $6.04 billion in sales, up 8.5 percent from the same period a year ago. And in June, it was one of 15 new companies to join the Fortune 500 list.
“We’ve had our strongest year in the history of the company,” Greenberg told FN in an interview last month. “We’re proud of that. We are very much on target to hit the $10 billion mark by 2026.”
He said at the time that Skechers’ multi-year partnerships with Stewart and Snoop Dogg are two big factors driving the business right now. “Working alongside Martha and Snoop, and realizing their passion for their brands is inspiring,” said Greenberg. “Both are incredibly talented when it comes to style and product. So having their input and their creativity just makes it that much more fun.”
And in his speech at the awards, Greenberg made sure to recognize the efforts of the entire Skechers family for the company’s success. “Really, I owe this [award] to our team members,” he said on stage. “We have 20,000 team members globally and it’s because of each and every one of them.”
For 37 years, the annual FN Achievement Awards — often called the “Shoe Oscars” — have celebrated the style stars, best brand stories, ardent philanthropists, emerging talents and industry veterans. The 2023 event is supported by sponsors Authentic Brands Group, Birdies, Caleres, Crocs, FDRA, Nordstrom, Saucony and Vibram.
