New York Fashion Week is back with new collections, new faces and new trends to watch.

One time-honored tradition that has remained consistent this year is the shoe collaborations. Designers and footwear brands partnered up to create new shoe collabs for the new collections, many of which can be seen at the runway shows. Jason Wu, Tombogo and Maisie Wilen are among those who worked with footwear brands for fall ’22.

Ranging from athletic styles to towering pumps, and from industry veterans like Jason Wu to newer designers like Maisie Wilen, the new shoes from a handful of collections have proved the power of partnering up.

Here, a full rundown on all of the shoe collabs that were part of New York Fashion Week’s fall ’22 season.

Jason Wu and Dear Frances

Once again, Jason Wu teamed up with Dear Frances for a round of fresh heels for fall ’22. The new collection featured three new heel styles, including a pump, a strappy, cage-toe style and a bootie-like pointed-toe heel. The runway show included lots of florals as decoration. The collection included lots of pieces in shades of burnt oranges, deep purples, red and black to name a few. The show took place on Feb. 12.

Tombogo and Saucony

Tombogo partnered with Saucony for its fall ’22 collection. The two brands created the Tombogo x Saucony Butterfly model seen in Tombogo’s NYFW presentation. The shoe, a new silhouette that will be releasing in select global markets later this year, is a multi-functional style that includes a modular inner boot that can be removed from the outer clog shell. Designing a unique digital-meets-live experience this season, Tombogo worked with PORTL to create a custom-made hologram device to showcase 10 concentrated looks from his collection, inviting his rapidly growing audience to think outside the box by looking inside the box this season.

Maisie Wilen and Keds

Masie Wilen worked with Keds on its fall ’22 collection footwear. The two brands created a limited footwear line that debuted during Maisie Wilen’s show on Feb. 12. The collaboration featured five shoe styles with unique textiles, like studs and fur, and bold prints. Maisie Wilen’s show went fully digital this time, partnering with Yahoo to bring her otherworldly creations to life in holograph form.

Florsheim and Atelier Cillian

Heritage footwear brand partnered up with two brands, Atelier Cillian and Stan, as part of their fall ’22 fashion presentations that took place on Feb. 11 at New York Men’s Day. Atelier Cillian used three different silhouettes during their presentation, including two dress shoes and one boot style.

Dubbed “The Misdeeds of Dashwood,” designer Stephen MIkhail turned to the 18th-century Hellfire Club for this collection, drawing on the melding of the tailored attire worn by the Members of Parliament attending the club with an updated assortment of fabrics.

Florsheim and Stan

The shoe brand also partnered up with Stan for a shoe collab for fall ’22. Stan created one style with Florsheim, a lace-up boot in both black and brown colorways. According to Stan’s designer Tristan Detwiler, this collection represents a significant creative evolution and reset for the brand.

Collina Strada and Vans

Instead of a fashion show for its fall ’22 show, Collina Strada hosted a premiere screening as a way to preview the new collection. The series, titled “The Collinas,” follows Tommy Dorfman as she moves to New York City for her dream internship at the brand. She quickly finds herself contending with some of the less than ideal aspects of the job, like making a very controversial decision that could haunt for years to come, and committing sustainability faux pas in front of colleagues.

The collection uses lots of bright colors and textures with influences from Y2K, producing a club-ready aesthetic. The brand teamed up with Vans for the collection, adding bright new touches to the popular skater brand’s sneakers and slip-ons.

Sergio Hudson and Malone Souliers

For the spring ’22 collection, Sergio Hudson tapped Malone Souliers to create a pair of platform sandals to match his collection’s pieces. The series of heels added the finishing touch to the line, filled with pastels, safari themes and lots of ’90s pop culture references, including “Clueless” and TV characters Whitley Gilbert of “A Different World” and Lisa Turtle of “Saved By The Bell.”

The shoe styles include colorways ranging from soft pastel hues like baby blues and blush pinks to bolder colors like bright green and electric orange. The heels featured fun accents like fringed pom-poms and different lace-up styles.

Gabriela Hearst and Clergerie

Gabriela Hearst teamed up with Clergerie again to create shoe styles for its fall ’22 collection. The two brands collaborated in the past, most recently working together on Hearst’s spring ’22 line. The previous collection included fringe covered totes, cork sandals and raffia platforms.
