Kate Middleton and Jill Biden stepped out for their first official meeting during Dr. Biden’s tenure as the first lady.
The American first lady and the British Duchess of Cambridge met in a visit to Connor Downs Academy in Hayle, U.K., amidst the ongoing G7 Summit in Cornwall. For the outing, the two coordinated attire in shades of pink, each giving a twist of their own personal tastes and style.
The Duchess opted for a below-the-knee strawberry pink dress complete with structured shoulders and a cinched waist whereas the first lady brought her color in a neon pink blazer layered over a white pleated dress and her signature pearls.
Both women, too, stayed in the same field when it came to footwear thanks to their patent nude pumps. Middleton’s pair featured a classic pointed-toe silhouette with a lifted stiletto heel; the design comes courtesy of Rupert Sanderson in the brand’s Malory design.
Biden’s choice then tapped Valentino in a slingback design, accented by a recognizable buckled logo across the toe; the first lady’s heels retail for $895 at Saks Fifth Avenue.
When it comes to footwear, Dr. Biden has a varied taste in shoes. Her go-to brands include Dior, Jimmy Choo and Stuart Weitzman in addition to Prada. She is also known for her love of running and in the past has preferred workout-ready footwear from Swiss running brand On. When it comes to apparel, the first lady’s official style taps a mix of well-known labels like Brandon Maxwell as well as supports smaller American brands like Jonathan Cohen and Markarian to name a few.
As for Kate Middleton, she tends to include pumps from Jimmy Choo, Stuart Weitzman, Emmy London and Gianvito Rossi amongst other top brands. Her closet also holds a few high-priced items like dresses from Catherine Walker of course along with Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta and more top names.
Beyond her designer heels and frocks, the Duchess of Cambridge also loops in a series of more wallet-friendly brands; Castañer is just one of many affordable labels that she frequents in addition to styles from New Balance, Zara, Marks & Spencer, Adidas and Superga.
