Gal Gadot got a taste of the rainbow as she virtually accepted the Sun Valley Film Festival’s Vision Award last night.

The Israeli actress, who is currently expecting her third child with her husband Yaron Varsano, donned a colorful number for the occasion. With help from her stylist Elizabeth Stewart, Gadot tapped Gabriela Hearst for a multicolor knit maxi dress that perfectly hugged her growing baby bump; the bold silhouette comes from the designer’s newly release spring ’21 collection and retails for over $3,700 at Matches Fashion.

Gadot then decided to ditch her typical heels and instead tapped Rene Caovilla for flat sandals. The thong-toe design wrapped across the ankle and heel for a supported base, helpful for the expecting actress. Similar designs from the brand retail for over $1,000 at Net-a-Porter.

Thong-toe footwear returned to the celebrity scene last year as one of spring and summer’s biggest trends and is expected to stick around in 2021. Be it classic flip-flops or thong-toe heels, the minimalistic silhouette falls in line with a ’90s-inspired revitalization of fashion, as seen with shoes like square-toe styles and pops of neon color. Stars like Chrissy Teigen along with Meryl Streep and Gabrielle Union amongst other major names are continuing to support the trend in even cooler temperatures.

Gadot herself is a newfound fan of the silhouette and has worn the same Rene Caovilla flats for three occasions in a row as seen on her stylist’s Instagram. The pair has been matched to everything from Zoom-ready sweats and blazers to billowing Alaïa gowns.

When it comes to her own personal style, Gadot’s look for the press day this week is a typical choice for the “Wonder Woman” actress. Her go-to brands for dressed-up attire include Saint Laurent, Stuart Weitzman and Sergio Rossi while she tends to switch it up for more casual footwear — think Reebok and Common Projects sneakers.

Hop on the thong toe sandal trend like Gal Gadot in these casual styles.
