Bella Hadid brought her bold and retro-chic style to the streets of Paris this week.
The model was spotted running errands across the French fashion capital this morning in trending attire, layering an oversize brown leather blazer with a tied-front mesh top and menswear trousers.
A sleek piece of leather attire has become one of the biggest trends this fall — and now this winter, too. Whether in the form of a coat, pants or, in Bella’s case, a blazer, the effortlessly cool material offers an easy way to add a glam yet edgy touch to all looks, as exemplified by the likes of Katie Holmes, Kendall Jenner, Zoe Kravitz and more.
On her feet, the media personality then broke out a set of chunky leather shoes with an exposed stitch finish and lugged outsole. The style bore resemblance to “ugly”-chic clogs and loafers from the early 2000s.
Typically considered “ugly” in the world of fashion, the new appreciation for comfortable sandal styles comes with an increased desire for ease of wear and stability in the fashion world amidst the current environment — and for 2021, too, it appears the shoes are here to stay. Brands like Teva and Birkenstock are at the forefront of the trend; plus, celebs including Britney Spears, Tracee Ellis Ross and Katie Holmes can oftentimes be spotted in the silhouettes.

When it comes to everyday fashion, the younger Hadid sister opts for shoes from Givenchy along with Prada, Solomon, Zara, Dr. Martens, New Balance and more, returning to a grungier footwear feel almost every time. For red carpet events and fancier get-togethers, the model oftentimes steps out in designs courtesy of Dior, Alexander Wang and Tom Ford amongst others.
Her modeling career has made her the face of campaigns for Jacquemus, Chanel and Helmut Lang in the past few seasons alone; she previously walked the runway for every name in the book, too, from Marc Jacobs to Miu Miu and Burberry.
