Adriana Lima Shows Off Her Edgier Side in a Studded Crop Top, Silky Pants & the Wildest Thong Heels

Adriana Lima gave fans a look at her edgier side this weekend with a bold at-home selfie.

As styled by Erin Walsh, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel had a bold Sunday outing in all-black attire. The outfit included a top courtesy of ready-to-wear brand LOL in a cutoff cropped silhouette with unique exposed-stitched $1,550 Stella McCartney pants to match.

The real kicker of Lima’s look, though, was her choice of footwear. The model decided on a pair of booties set with glittering uppers, a round toe and an unexpected peep-toe fit with a thong toe post.

Thong-toe footwear returned to the celebrity scene last year as one of its biggest trends and has already stuck around in 2021. Be it classic flip-flops or thong-toe heels, the minimalistic silhouette falls in line with the aforementioned ’90s-inspired revitalization of fashion. Stars like Kendall Jenner along with Meryl Streep, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez amongst other well-known names are continuing to support the trend even as we begin to approach cooler temperatures.

Lima herself is a major fan of a classic thong sandal and oftentimes breaks out the silhouette for her beachside travels and family vacations.

Stilettos are a common theme in Lima’s footwear rotation, opting for picks from top brands like Gianvito Rossi, Giuseppe Zanotti and Schutz, for whom she serves as a brand ambassador.

In 2018, Puma announced the model as its newest brand ambassador, joining the likes of Cara Delevingne and Selena Gomez. And she’s not just serving as the face of its campaigns — she’s a designer, too.

“This year, about a month ago, I became one of the designers also for Puma,” Lima told FN in 2019. “It’s incredible to be on the other side as a creative. To me, designing shoes was a pleasure; I’m at the gym six times a week, so when you’re working out and trying different exercises you understand what’s missing and what you can add to a line of clothes and shoes.”
