Sarah Flint Designed the Most Comfortable Wedding Shoes for Her Own Big Day — And You Can Get Them, Too

You know the saying, “If you want something done well, do it yourself.” Well, designer Sarah Flint took it literally when it came to finding the perfect wedding shoes.

Like many 2020 brides, Flint’s dream wedding was cancelled due to the pandemic. She and partner Sean Beresini did not want to wait any longer than they had to, however, and decided to get married in November with an intimate DIY ceremony.

For the occasion, Flint (given her line of work) designed her own shoes. Plus, she did her own makeup — thanks to an Instagram live tutorial from influencer Aida Dopo.

“When designing my wedding shoes I wanted something that paired well with our English Countryside theme that was also romantic and had some vintage-inspired touches,” she told FN. The couple married in Flint’s home state of Massachusetts at Mishaum Point Peninsula Buzzards Bay, surrounded only by family.

Flint, who had one month to plan the event, wore a Reem Acra dress with a custom coat made from the dress’ extra fabric, which Flight designed herself.

The shoes sit on a two-inch block heel and were made with comfort in mind, according to flint.

“The perfect wedding shoe is a style that marries comfort with something truly beautiful. These shoes will be walking you down the aisle and are what you’ll be dancing all night in, comfort is key and having a style that you love is a must,” she said.

Called the Parker, Flint made the shoes available to the public, retailing online for $575. The Made-in-Italy style features water-resistant satin and mesh upper with individually handmade nappa flowers. Plus, there’s something blue with the “Borrowed Blue” leather lining, detailed with scalloped edges.

“My wedding was always going to have an element that was outdoors so I knew when designing my shoes that I needed them to be water-resistant. You can never predict the weather and I wanted the shoes to stay in perfect condition well beyond my wedding day,” she added, noting that she will continue to incorporate the fabric in other collections.
