The RealReal Bets on Brick-and-Mortar, Opens Atlanta Store
The RealReal is bolstering its brick-and-mortar portfolio with the launch of its Atlanta outpost. Today, the luxury resale e-tailer debuts a new retail space in the Buckhead neighborhood featuring two luxury consignment offices with women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories, footwear, jewelry and beauty goods at the forefront.
Services include complimentary valuations for product, cleaning, repairs and alterations, as well as same-day buy online, pick-up in store or curbside options.
The 3,200-sq.-ft.-space will include exclusive pieces for the Atlanta customer, with new pieces added daily. Plus, the store was meant to feel like an extension of the community. Customers will a see a large-scale mural commissioned from local artist Julie Ann McKevitt in the space.
According to The RealReal’s head of women’s, Sasha Skoda, the Atlanta shopper invests particularly in the shoes and handbags categories, with top-performing brands including Gucci, Prada, Fendi and Jimmy Choo. Meanwhile, for men, hot designers include Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent and Dior.

The Atlanta location joins the RealReal’s retail footprint of 12 shoppable stores, which also includes New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, among others.
In January, The RealReal debuted in Brooklyn, with a new store in the residential but artistic neighborhood of Cobble Hill. The store is the first to have a designated section for vintage and is curated for the Brooklyn customer.
Despite being known for its robust online marketplace, brick-and-mortar is still an important piece of its business strategy to acquire new customers. In December last year, for instance, approximately 30% of The RealReal’s new consigners came from its retail locations.
