Allbirds and Jeff Staple Show Off How Sustainable the Tree Dasher Shoe Is — Literally
Allbirds has always promoted its sustainability focus. However, its efforts have never been as front and center as they are with its new Jeff Staple collaboration.
For its latest collaborative effort, the brand’s Tree Dasher shoe was reworked by the legendary designer to show wearers the eco-friendly components that are on their feet. Allbirds described the collab as having an “inside-out” look that reveals the “intricately engineered mix of regenerative natural materials” and its “distinctive, almost anatomical, design.”
To pull this off, Staple put the Allbirds carbon footprint label — which is on every one of its shoes under the insole — on the upper for everyone to see. (The label on this particular shoe reads 9.2 kg CO2e.)
Staple’s iteration of the Tree Dasher is delivered in his brand’s signature gray and pink hues. The upper features tonal grays as well as hits of pink, and the look is completed with a pink outsole.

The Staple x Allbirds Tree Dasher arrives today and will retail for $150. The shoe will be sold via Allbirds.com, the brand’s app and at its stores in New York City and Los Angeles.
Additionally, the two teamed up on the brand’s Trino Tuber socks featuring the iconic Staple Pigeon logo ($16) and a limited-edition T-shirt ($58). The shirt — which features an illustration from Staple’s Reed Art Department and the product’s Carbon Footprint of 7.1 kg CO2e — will only be available in the NYC store and proceeds will benefit the Sunrise Movement, which is a youth-led organization that works to combat climate change.
