Amina Muaddi Taps A$AP Rocky’s AWGE For Her Next Surefire Hit Collaboration
Amina Muaddi surprised fans today with a teaser for a collaboration with none other than A$AP Rocky.
Muaddi tapped the rapper’s creative collective, AWGE and took to Instagram today to announce that the sure-to-be upcoming hit collection will drop worldwide tomorrow, Dec. 11.
Although details were scarce regarding the pieces to be released, the clips and images on social media indicate a complementary marriage between the designer’s signature glam taste and the “Fashion Killa” musician’s edgy flair with glittering earrings, necklaces and anklets. The collaboration, of course, also features a selection of women’s footwear — and there’s even a new twist on Muaddi’s signature Begum glass slippers.

In the same way that Muaddi’s fans adore her standout silhouettes and must-have appeal, followers of A$AP Rocky are obsessed with the beautiful mystery that is AWGE. The creative agency launched in 2015 and has since built its buzz on being unrelentingly enigmatic — the brand’s “About” section on its website even reads: “Rules: #1 never reveal what AWGE means. #2 When in doubt always refer to rule #1.”

Collectively housing artists such as Playboi Carti, A$AP Nast and slowthai, AWGE produces music and videos as well as a series of its own merchandise. In the past, it also has worked with the likes of J.W. Anderson, Japanese retailer Needles and Guess as well as teased potential collaborations with one of 2020’s cult-favorite brands, Marine Serre.
Muaddi, a three-time FN Achievement Award winner, hails from Romania and grew up in Italy. She’s taken on the world of fashion through styling experiences at Men’s Vogue and GQ before venturing into footwear design. The Jordanian-Romanian creative launched her eponymous collection 2018 and it exploded from there; nowadays, her designs spotted on the likes of Kim Kardashian, Mariah Carey, Demi Lovato and one special star in particular: Rihanna.
Muaddi joined forces with Rihanna’s Fenty line for a must-have footwear collaboration in July. Since then, the collection went on to become one of the biggest of 2020, dropping a second capsule in November and earning itself the title of the 2020 FNAA Collaborator of the Year.
