Michelle Obama joined late-night host Conan O’Brien for a special segment as they surprised volunteers with an appearance from the former first lady.
Last night, Obama unexpectedly joined video calls with volunteers from When We All Vote, a nonprofit, non-partisan organization working to increase voter registration and turnout at the polls as the election season approaches. For the calls, the political figure did the ever-trending waist-up dressing style for video chats in an unmissable neon pink sweater and a familiar accessory.
The former first lady brought back her legendary “Vote” necklace for the occasion, a piece that made headlines for its subtle yet powerful message when she first wore it during the 2020 Democratic National Convention.
The original necklace came from Black-owned jewelry boutique, ByChari, and caused a frenzy across social media and search engines. Google Trends reported on Twitter after the DNC that “Michelle Obama necklace,” “vote necklace” and “letter necklace” all became breakout searches after the virtual speech aired on Aug. 17.
