Allbirds Has a Shoe Collab Inspired by Endangered Birds — With Proceeds Protecting Their Habitats

Time to start practicing your bird calls.

Allbirds is doing its part to celebrate Earth Day on April 22 with today’s launch of a limited-edition unisex collection in collaboration with the National Audubon Society. The brand is releasing five shoes through the week that are inspired by endangered birds.

The first release is the Tree Runner Painted Redstart style, a specialty of the Southwestern mountains. It will be followed by the launch of the Wool Runner Pygmy Nuthatch on April 16, Wool Runner Mountain Bluebird on April 17, Tree Runner Allen’s Hummingbird on April 18 and the Wool Runner Scarlet Tanager on April 19.

All styles retail for $95, with all proceeds going to the National Audubon Society, a non-for-profit organization that works to protect birds and their habitats.

The partnership is an extension of Allbirds’ commitment to sustainability. The brand is known for collections that include footwear done in merino wool sourced from organizations that are focused on ensuring high standards of farming, land management and animal welfare. Additionally, shoelaces are made from recycled plastic bottles, while castor bean oil helps increase the natural content of the insoles.
