The mood: Lightened up. From the blush pink and seafoam leather invite to the frothy layers on the runway.

Front row: Iris Apfel.

The shoes: Rick Owens pioneered the leather legging hybrid sneaker, which continued this season. Set atop his signature jagged sport soles, these matching thigh-highs helped to winterize the sheer layering.

The verdict: While the footwear message wasn’t new, Owens’ softer side was indeed notably different.
