The mood: A new urgency. Lately, the designer is known for always pushing the innovation envelope when it comes to show format or tech integration. But this season, Minkoff wanted the focus to be on a shoppable runway of ready-now looks for spring. It’s a risky experiment but might just make the most sense for her clicked-in, digitally savvy customer.
The soundtrack: a live performance by Zella Day.
The shoes: Block heel western boots, stacked-wood platforms and Minkoff’s most in-step shape: a slingback Mary Jane.
The review: No new shoes here but still lots to consider about the fashion cycle’s breakneck pace. Could runways merge with retail? We shall see, but it certainly is admirable that Team Minkoff is willing to give it a go.
