Sandra Choi served up a collection inspired by male style tribes through the years. From Teddy Boys and Rockabillies to dandies and playboys, Choi had them covered. “I wanted this collection to be manly and enriched — but not in your face,” she said.
Hybrids were among the highlights, including a military boot with a creeper sole and a side zip, done in a textured leather meant to mimic tree bark. A lace-up shoe version came with a similar creeper sole, and a delicate pattern inspired by floral brocade, while another still had a leather and Velcro strap across the top.
Lace-ups came covered in shaded glitter or purple leopard print, while brogues were a patchwork affair, colorblocked with suede panels. Tuxedo slippers were paved with feathers or adorned with tassels, while high-top sneakers glowed with blue sequins or gave off a tough and street-y vibe via see-through Perspex leopard print side panels.
Winter boots looked rugged — and luxurious — with transparent rubber treads on the bottom and shearling on the inside, and short riding-style boots were also filled with the warm fuzzy wool. Choi upped the glam factor and functionality of Chelsea boots, which could be slipped on or laced up.
