The mood: Scholastic sophistication.

The shoes: Riffing on strong collegiate codes, Dries Van Noten’s école ideal included school ties, #1 dress blazers and secret society smoking robes. Bulbous-heel velvet boots were done in scholarly shades of maroon, house purple and old gold. Wrapped around those irregular heels, some wooden, was a strand of grandma’s pearls.

The verdict: An easy A for these star students.
