For Vetements’ hotly anticipated collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, the Parisian brand chose Blahnik’s beloved Hangisi silhouette, and then reimagined the style with a deconstructed interpretation.
Vetements on Saturday presented the shoes, including 18 collaborations with boldface name labels, during Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week at the Galeries Lafayette in Paris.
The label’s creative director, Demna Gvasalia, said Blahnik’s familiar shoe style was “destroyed,” resulting in a blend of both brands — edgy and sleek.
The shoes feature frayed and jagged edges and scissoring along the fabric, as well as unfinished closing — all played in contrast to the Hangisi’s ultra rich satin and striking colors.
Missing is the signature embellished buckle.

Also included in the collaboration are kitten heel slingback, court shoes, ankle boots, thigh-high boots and waist-high waders.
Blahnik described Vetements’ approach as “very clever and new.”
“I think it is of the moment to mix different brands and wear them the way you want,” he added in a statement. “I like the freedom of that, hence why I was intrigued and said yes when they approached me.”
The limited-edition footwear will be sold at select retailers and on Manoloblahnik.com.
Vetements’ range also featured collaborations with Dr. Martens, Reebok, COMME des GARÇONS, Carhartt WIP, Levi’s, Canada Goose, Eastpak, Alpha Industries, Champion, Schott, Brioni, Lucchese, Mackintosh, Church’s, Kawasaki and Juicy Couture.
