The Mood: Eighties Lady Diana meets Cyndi Lauper.
The Soundtrack: Girls Just Want To Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper and the soundtrack of Empire Records.
The Front Row: Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Aymeline Valade, Leandra Mendine.
The Shoes: Duran Duran winklepickers stormed the runway. They came in zebra stripes and with outsize chrome studding. Some were more strappy flats worn with matching socks for an ad-hoc boot effect. With fluffy pinned-back hair, countryside cardigans and ruffles galore, the attitude was Sloan Ranger with a rebellious side.
The Verdict: Early Lady Di looks are definitely having a moment this season, as seen also at Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, but subverting her excessively innocent style with kicky shoes was a very smart move.
