As news of Prince’s death makes waves around the world, fans, musicians and designers are taking to social media to pay their respects.
Prince‘s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure (who also reps Beyoncé), confirmed the artist’s death with the Associated Press.
“It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57. There are no further details as to the cause of death at this time,” said Noel-Schure in a statement.
The icon’s legendary style paired with his musical prowess, resulted in a phenomenal fan base and career spanning more than 30 years. Prince was responsible for a seemingly endless list of hit singles including “Kiss,” “Little Red Corvette,” ”Let’s Go Crazy,” “When Doves Cry” and “Raspberry Beret.”
On the fashion front, the star will forever be associated with statement style both on the stage and off. With high-neck ruffles, canes, heeled boots and glittered suits, the singer certainly knew how to stand out from the crowd.
