From Kanye West and Paul McCartney to Marc Jacobs and Pharrell Williams, the fashion and music worlds are mourning the death of rock icon David Bowie this morning.
Bowie, who turned 69 just last Friday and released his newest album “Blackstar” the same day, died at home Sunday Jan. 10 after a year-and-a-half long battle with cancer. The singer scored his first major hit in 1969 with “Space Oddity” and has since remained an innovator and important influencer in music and entertainment.
But Bowie’s influence went well beyond his contributions to music. His outrageous costumes as alter-ego Ziggy Stardust and androgynous fashion choices made him a trend setter. He became known in the industry as someone ready and willing to push boundaries and he was loved and respected for it. See how celebrities and fashion world are responding to the news of Bowie’s passing.
