Aimee Song is a fan of the velvet moment. The interior designer and blogger behind “Song of Style” was at the Footwear News Achievement Awards, where she told FN that “she’s obsessed with velvet everything” when it comes to shoes.
Song was a guest of Alexandre Birman, who was awarded Brand of the Year for Schutz at the Tuesday event in New York City. Olivia Palermo presented to Birman.
When asked what footwear styles she is not a fan of, Song was open to all possibilities. “When it comes to fashion and style, you never say never, because the trend always comes back eventually,” she said. “A year ago, I would have never worn kitten heels, I felt like they were for my grandma or someone older. But now I’m obsessed with kitten heels because they are so comfortable.”
As for her first designer purchase, she cited a pair of Chloe loafers.
And because it’s the holiday season, Song is ready to watch her favorite festive film on repeat: “Home Alone.” “It’s so cliche, but I could watch it 50 times and never get sick of it,” she said.
