French Sole and Alice Naylor-Leyland celebrated the launch of their collaboration with a party at Annabel’s members club, in London’s Mayfair.
Leyland—known for her popular style blog ‘Mrs. Alice’—customized her favorite French Sole styles, including the ‘Hefner’ slippers and ‘Knightsbridge’ pointed-toe flats, using leopard appliqués, flamingo embroideries and glitter bows, inspired by her favorite Disney movie ‘Alice in Wonderland’.
“When I was approached by French Sole, I thought they wanted to offer me to customize something for myself. It’s slightly terrifying that this is for everyone,” said Leyland. “I just had to do an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme, it’s fun and whimsical which is how a collaboration should be.”
Taking its cue from the collection, the event had an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ theme with drinks disguised as potions and flamingo figurines scattered around the venue.

Fellow footwear designer Charlotte Dellal was also in attendance; “[The collection] is feminine, there’s leopard-print and glitter, what’s not to love?” she said.
Dellal has been in the process of preparing for her first runway show which will take place on the first day of London Fashion Week; “The preparations are going well and I’m really looking forward to it, I haven’t started getting nervous yet. If it wasn’t for Fashion Week though, I’d be going to Rio for the carnival.”
Other guests included Mary Charteris, Elizabeth von thurn und Taxis, Sabine Getty and Amber Le Bon. Le Bon sported a new pink hair color, dyed during a recent shoot for RedKen, for which she is an ambassador.
