Fashion-comfort brand FitFlop is helping put a roof over people’s heads and shoes on their feet.
For the second year, the U.K.-based company is donating money from the sale of its footwear to Habitat for Humanity. The project kicked off in June with a special-edition Love & Hope flip-flop that incorporates the two meaningful words into the sandal design. While the right shoe says love, the left says hope.
For each pair sold in the U.S,. the brand is donating $20 to Habitat for Humanity, with a commitment to donate a minimum of $100,000. The sandal retails for $100 and is available in five colors.
As part of the initiative, a duo of cozy slippers will be added, available for sale on Sept. 1. The House Shearling slipper retails for $130, and the House with Pom-Poms Shearling slipper goes for $140. Once again, $20 from each pair sold will be donated to the organization.
The sandals and slippers are available at FitFlop, as well as retailers including Nordstrom.com.
In addition to money donated to Habitat for Humanity in the States, a separate initiative is taking place in the U.K., with a commitment of £50,000 to be donated.
Habitat for Humanity helps families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter in 70 countries. Homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
