Seeing how touring the world, launching a Manolo Blahnik collaboration and releasing Puma fur slides isn’t enough for Rihanna at the moment, the global star has just dropped another complete Fenty for Stance sock collection.
“The inspiration for the collection was kind of like a baby sport/baby doll/tomboy sport, all in one,” said Rihanna in a behind-scenes-video from the campaign shoot. “It really is me in a collection of socks.”
Rihanna stars in the campaign, which she creative-directed, and it features some of the collection’s newest styles and silhouettes. Metallic pumps from Juan Carlos Obando’s fall ’15 collection, designed by Paul Andrew, were seen on Rihanna and the models. Also spotted in the ad are Rihanna’s new fur slides for Puma — set for release on Friday — paired with lace socks.
The 19-style collection includes varsity style elements with pastel colors, sheers, mesh and lace. There are a number of new styles in the spring ’16 season such as toeless and footless silhouettes, anklets, and over-the-knee and thigh-high socks. The number 8 is seen detailed on select styles marking certain Rihanna milestones, such as her eighth and most recent studio album, “Anti,” and her birth year, which is 1988.
This follows Rihanna’s second creative campaign and holiday sock collection, which hit stores in November. The release also marks the third full collection she designed with the brand since signing on as a contributing creative director in July 2015. She continues to direct each campaign, adding her creative touch behind the camera.
The Fenty for Stance by Rihanna spring ’16 collection is available online at Stance.com, the Stance flagship store in New York City and in select retailers.
