Appearing in his first NBA All-Star Game and second straight NBA Finals were two highlights of Draymond Green‘s 2015-16 season with the Golden State Warriors. But this summer, when the charismatic forward laces up his Nikes and hits the court, he’ll be wearing red, white and blue instead of the usual blue and gold.
Green, a native of Saginaw, Mich., accepted an invitation to join Team USA and will play alongside Olympic veterans Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony. Although this is the 26-year-old’s first appearance at the games, he previously competed in the 2015 USA Showcase and was a member of Team USA’s 2011 World University Games.
While Green doesn’t have a signature sneakers, he often laced up this past season in player’s edition Nike Zoom HyperRevs with “D23” branding.
During Golden State’s historic 73-9 regular season, the forward averaged 14 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game playing alongside back-to-back league Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry and three-point threat Klay Thompson.
