Under Armour is staking a greater claim on the soccer field. The company has partnered with the North American Soccer League (NASL) for a match ball partnership.
This spring, Under Armour’s custom-designed soccer ball will be used on pitches across the league. “Under Armour has quickly become a major player in the global soccer scene, and we believe that this partnership will benefit all who are involved in the game both here and abroad,” said NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson. “When our players and coaches got their feet on their Under Armour Desafio ball for the first time, the responses were great. It’s a fantastic ball.”
The NASL is a professional league established in the U.S. and Canada. Its member clubs will exclusively use the ball in all training sessions, matches and community activities.
The ball will be available for purchase at the NASLShop.com. It features the NASL’s signature red and blue colors as well as the league’s logo.
Under Armour is building on its current affiliations in the soccer world with the ball. NASL clubs have been using the ball for their preseason training sessions. It will make its official debut on April 2, when the league kicks off its 2016 spring season.
